Pedestrian Moments

I am forever fascinated with the transitions of life, both actual and metaphorical. A pedestrian is such a person going from one place to another. We may briefly notice one another and quickly forget. We may be deep in thought, or carrying something, or running late, or patiently waiting. A photographer can tie those fleeting moments all together. As soon as the handheld camera permitted it, photography became the greatest observer of the street.

I have been doing street photography since the mid-1980s. These more recent images were taken between 2017 and 2019.
